Morse Code Worksheet Answer Key
Also available as an Adobe PDF file.

Every letter or symbol that you can use to write a message has a code written in dots and dashes that can be used when writing or speaking may not be practical. This code can be sent audibly or visually. With practice it is possible to send and receive Morse code at very fast speeds.

For this exercise it is not necessary to memorize all the letters and symbols used in Morse code, but to understand how they are used. This worksheet is designed to help you understand how to send and receive Morse code. If you want to learn Morse code and be proficient in it's use try visiting TerraX.org's web site at http://TerraX.org and playing the Morse code game.

Part One

Instructions:

To fill in the blanks below use the following words: Morse code, space, dot, dash, static, and full stop.

1 space The length of one of these is equal to the length of a dot.
2 static This can make voice messages, sent over a radio, hard to understand.
3 Morse code A system of "dots" and "dashes" used to communicate when voice or other systems cannot be used.
4 dash The length of this sound is three times as long as the length of a dot.
5 full stop This is used to mean the end of an idea. It can also be used instead of a period.
6 dot The length of this sound is short, three times it's length makes a dash.
